In the early evening Sheba Piano Lounge caters to a relaxed dinner crowd which feasts on authentic Ethiopian cuisine created by Chef Alemayehu made a name for herself with her first restaurant which she established in Oakland after moving to the Bay Area from Addis Abada, Ethiopia in 1976. Alemayehu opened Sheba Piano Lounge in San Francisco's Fillmore District in 2006. In addition to offering authentic Ethiopian dishes, Sheba Piano Lounge also offers live music seven nights a week with no cover charge. The menu features riffs on American fare such as the Popular Pomengranate Meatballs sprinkled with blue cheese, a Sirloin Sambussa stuffed with vibrantly spiced beef, and lightly breaded Rosemary Balsamic Sea Bass with turmeric rice. .She imports most of the spices in her dishes from her family members in Ethiopia – so that you experience the most authentic Ethiopian flavors possible.
